Questions
1. What are my chances at Canadian Schools like Alberta, UBC or Concordia? I'm also trying for Top 30-40 US schools. Please rate my chances for US as well.

A: You will definitely be competitive for Alberta, UC and Concordia. Your GMAT score is in that range and you have some good qualities to other aspects of your background. Top 30-40 in US will be tougher. You will have a shot but it's borderline. Why not apply to both lists of schools? Are you already planning to do that?

2. GMAT is a big hurdle as I'm scoring low on the test despite scoring above 700 in mocks. Retaking the test would mean missing R1. Please advise if I should target lower GMAT schools or try to improve my score and go for R2.

A: You should forego R1 and push for R2 if think you have a shot at a higher GMAT. I can't understand how R1 makes sense for your profile and situation. There really isn't any significant difference between the two rounds. You're lucky you have the option!

3. Will study visa for Canada be a problem as my mother is a Canadian citizen and she is residing in Canada?

A: I am not sure. You will have to contact the school or an immigration expert. We don't advise on those types of matters.
