PROFILE EVALUATION REQUEST

Question

I have graduated from the top university in my country with honors with a Bachelor of Law. I was the team leader in one of the university's student bodies. I began my professional work experience in the last year of my studies (I'm not sure if this counts, or if only work after graduation counts. In my country, you can work during the last year of your studies before officially receiving your degree). If this work experience counts, I will have 4 years of experience when matriculating. If it doesn't, I will have 3.3 years of experience, including 2 years as an associate lawyer and 1.3 years as head of a department at another law firm.

Alongside my work experience, I am currently an LL.M. student and will finish my LL.M. next year, received a full merit-based scholarship.

Co-founded a non-governmental organization that provides access to educational resources and professional development for underprivileged individuals. I have several published scientific articles and have received a gold medal for academic excellence.

I will have one LOR from my previous workplace's manager. As for the second one, I’m unsure if I can ask my current manager, as it might jeopardize my career.

In the short term, I want to pursue a career in management consulting, and in the long term entrepreneurship.

You will not be able to include the work alongside full-time UG. So it will be 3.3 years, as calculated by you. This, in my view, is on the lower end. You may want to postpone your application by at least one more year.

CGPA: 8.33/10 (weak point in profile)

Hello Amitava0205 , Your profile is impressive but you have competition from your peer group from Top IITs. Though CGPA may be a concern but you can always compliment it with a high GMAT score. Advice: 1. Work on your CV and make sure it sounds impactful with result data. 2. Your recommendations must corroborate your achievements through the anecdotal references. 3. You narrative for Essays must be powerful with clear context. 4. What you will be doing in the deferral period must be captured well and don't hesitate to mention what you would be doing for the next 2 or 3 years depending on when you would like to start the program.
