I am not sure about my school selection and on what basis should I select the schools.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ankur,

Thanks for your post, and CONGRATS on the 760 GMAT! Impressive, and will help your prospects!

So it sounds as though you have the following strengths:

-stand out GMAT
-plenty of demonstrated technical, analytical, & project management skills
-some experience training others (mentoring role/communication skills/leadership)
-good community involvement such as through Teach for India

And the following challenges:

-GPA
-the fact that there are so many Indian IT applicants! Standing out from the rest (in addition to just via GMAT) will make the difference
-showing more of the leadership, people skills, soft skills... in addition to just the technical skills

I understand that you are struggling to choose schools. Side note-- you mention R1? It's quite late to be choosing schools for R1, no?? Some deadlines have passed and others are quite soon.

There are many factors to consider in choosing schools.... what geographic part of the word or type of city/locations are you interested in? Are you most focused on schools that produce a lot of consultants (you could look into Darden, INSEAD, Kellogg, Duke, Tuck, Ross for ex) ? What about class size, student culture, other factors?
