My work history is a bit weak. I don't really have any "brand" names in my work experience.
However, my brother is very well connected, and some of his friends (who I've met and gotten along with) would be willing to write short recommendations saying something along the lines of: I know this person, I think he's great, and we'd be willing to definitely give him a very close look upon graduation from the MBA program.
Examples: a VP at Blackstone, a CEO of a large real estate company, etc. etc.
Would this be weird to ask one of the adcoms to add a couple of these recommendations to my file? I've already been accepted to an interview. I just want to dispel any doubts about potentially having trouble finding a job post-MBA. There are some other reasons why I think it might be a good idea, and a few reasons why it might be a bad idea.
What's your take?

Hi there,
Tough question, good thought behind it overall... I would say some schools might be resistant to your requesting to add additional "recommendations" at this point. I HAVE heard of examples where someone, ideally with a connection to the school, reaches out on their own accord and writes more of an 'informal' email/note to admissions with a brief recommendation.... so if anything you may be better off with something closer to that example. The better cases of those are again an alum of the school or someone with some kind of connection to it. I wouldn't think it is critical at this point; at most schools it's a good sign that you have the interview and you can address your potential employ-ability at that interview-- for example discussing conversations you've had and connections you've made with contacts at specific companies that have indicated interest in future possible employment post-MBA, that is still a plus and shows you've done your 'homework.'
