Hi,
first, let me thank you in advance for giving us the possibility to receive advice from such talented people (I am amazed by your average profiles).
Some info about myself:
- 23 y/o European student studying in one of Europe's top business schools (it was ranked 2nd in Europe the year I entered),
- GPA of 3.8, top 5%,
- WE: Internship at Bain & Co., with full time offer at the end of the stage, offered an internship at BCG (declined in favour of Bain) and interning right now in a big VC fund. 2 years ago I started a startup that won a national start-up award, and I'm now in the process of founding a second one. (I've done several other interships but those are the most remarkable and recent)
- GMAT: in three days I'll have my first exam, and from the simulations I should score somewhere between 710-730 (I've a second date scheduled for the end of August, just in case)
- Recommendation letters: I already collected 4 of them, 2 from past employers (1 from Bain and 1 from a previous employer) and two from university.
- Why am I willing to take an MBA: want to meet cool people to work with in the future, I've got a strong entrepreneurial mind and I'd love to be with like-minded individuals, to evaluate ideas and receive feedback. Moreover I'd like a strong name on my CV to have a nice way out in case things didn't work out with my entrepreneurial ambitions.
- Dream Schools: HBS, Stanford, both deferred MBAs (I'm open to other suggestions)
- Why deferred MBA: well, being a college senior, I feel this is the only sensible thing to do.
- Miscellaneous: I've been president of the largest student association in my Uni. I suffer from type 1 diabetes. Practice a lot of sports. Love dogs (:D).
Thanks again,
Den
