Hi I would appreciate a profile evaluation and any suggestions about how I can improve.
I am a 25 year old American currently living in Paris.
Target schools: Penn, Emory, Duke, UVA, UNC all Round 1
GMAT: 720
College: Large state school
-Undergrad GPA: 3.4 (BBA in Accounting)
-Graduate: 3.25 (Masters in Accounting)
-Complete 8 week study abroad focusing on International Finance at University of Oxford
Work Experience:
1. Big 4 Accounting Firm - NYC (October 2013-December 2015): worked in the alternative investments group for federal tax doing compliance for hedge and PE funds. Promoted to Senior Associate in October 2015.
-Interviewed and chosen to perform a 3 month rotation in the alternative investments tax reporting department of a bulge bracket bank. Personally responsible for the review of 26 funds.
-Interviewed and chosen to perform a 3 month rotation in the advisory service line working on the data migration of a large health care company
-Assisted the London office for 2 months on one of the firm's new technology tools
-Received multiple recognition awards for producing high quality work
-Manage team in India in order to complete engagements
2. Big 4 Accounting Firm - Paris (January 2016-June 2018): work as a Senior International Tax Consultant
-Work includes compliance for corps and partnerships, buy side and sell side due diligence for M&A, tax provisions for french corporations, corporate restructuring
-Acting manager on office's largest compliance engagement
-Manage team in India in order to complete engagements
-Provide training to Paris/London office on how to use specific firm technologies on compliance engagements to increase efficiency
Certifications: CPA licensed in NY
Extracurriculars:
1. College
-Business school mentor program: 2 years - paired with professional in accounting industry
-Club tennis: 2 years
-Reformed University Fellowship: mentored middle school students while providing tutoring assistance in basic curriculum
-Intramural sports: tennis and softball
2. Professional
-Recruiting: received multiple recognition awards for efforts
-Junior Achievement: on team that helped raise over $3,000 in two separate years
-Mentor (NYC): asked by associate to be his mentor
-Mentor (Paris): main contact for global intern participants to help make move to France easy and provide professional guidance
-Transitional Coach to incoming staff and interns to aid with the transition into the firm and provide continuing professional guidance

-Since I now live in Paris, I've been traveling extensively. 10 countries last year.
References: two strong recommendations. 1 from the principal in my office, another from a VP from my rotation at bank
Goal: move in management consulting (MBB)

Seriously though, do love Paris, visited something like 8-10 times when I lived in London and it's fabulous, hope you enjoy.
In terms of your b-school admissions ambitions.... first of all if I'm following, you would apply not this coming fall but the following, correct? Or did you mean this fall? Saw your planned work through 2018...
It sounds like your professional career has progressed well thus far. You have a decent academic performance and having the masters in accounting shows you can manage the academic rigor, though your grades in the masters are on the lower side. The involvement is decent, and the international experience could be a plus... I suggest playing that up and showcasing how you've learned to work well in various cultures, with all types of people etc.
To your main q of how you could improve... GMAT is solid; your school list sounds reasonable to me with a good mix of competitive levels.... the main things to do now include: keep doing your best at work; step up whenever possible and really show leadership where you can; continue or add a community activity at present; spend time researching schools; and dig in and do your career-related research. Thank you for the quick response! That article is very informative. I had a couple of follow up questions/comments regarding your response.
1) During my Masters program, I was studying for the CPA. I had already received a full time offer through my internship, so my main concern was passing all four exams before I started work. Is the lower GPA something that I should address in the optional essay?
2) Yes, you are correct that I will be applying this fall and begin in Fall 2018.
3) I would like to take a supplemental course this summer before I apply. I have been looking at MOOCs. Do schools consider these credible, or should I look into taking an online class directly through a school's website? I see that most MOOCs provide a certificate after you pass the course, but it's hard to tell if a course provides letter grades or if it is only pass/fail.
4) I completely agree with the community activity. I am currently researching organizations in Paris where I can volunteer and hopefully hold a leadership position.
