Can you help me with a query related to LOR -> My recommender was discussing that there is a question for constructive feedback with a 500-word limit? So till what length should he answer this question? Writing complete 500 words won’t have a negative impact?

Hey gmataspire43 - With regards to the recommender's essay I don't think it will hurt your prospects if your recommendation is above the word limit, but within 10%. Anything above that will make it difficult for the adcom to comprehend

Hi,

I think there is some miss communication. My recommender doesn't want to exceed the word limit. He was asking should he write all the details and consume the whole word limit of approximately 500 words? Because he was confused as can this result in some negative impact or should he write a short and crisp answer so that it doesn't appear out to be a strong weakness?

Hi there - I would say what's most important is that he spend enough of the word count speaking about the concrete steps you took towards improvement and then, the concrete indicators of improvement that he saw. Hope that helps!
