Hi VerbalKnight,
Thanks for posting your question. Congrats on getting a new role at an EV startup! It sounds like a good opportunity to pivot into the EV space, if that's your area of interest. You mentioned that it's a similar role. Do you think you might still have an opportunity to take on a few more responsibilities at the startup? That's usually the case for folks at startups - they tend to wear a few more hats, or there's a chance for them to take on more than at a big MNC. If so, then the impression would be that you're progressing positively in your career trajectory.
I would not make a move simply to have "start-up" on your resume. Unless you're pivoting into a niche of your interest, or taking on more responsibilities, the size of your company doesn't usually make a big difference. Since you already have 3 years of "training" at a MNC, taking on a role at a start-up could add to your profile. But do ask yourself why you're making the move. If it makes sense for your career (eg. higher pay, more responsibilities, or focusing on EV), then it would help your b-school application.
Given we're still months away from the fall application deadlines, it should be fine for you to make the move now. Caveat - do keep in touch with your past manager/colleagues and consider whom might be open to writing a recommendation letter for you. As well, do prioritize building relationships at your new company so that you may find a recommender in time for fall. This is typically the reason that most people don't switch jobs just before applying to b-school. But if the reasons for making the move are compelling, then it's a risk that's worthwhile taking.

Sincerely,
Debbie
