Hi, I am interested in knowing my eligibility for top 15 MBA schools in USA. My Target start date is Fall'2022.
· Demographics (nationality, gender):Indian, Female,30
· Education : B. Tech India (Electrical & Electronics;2008-2012) - GPA : 3.8 (from an average Tier 2 University)
· Other coursework or post-undergraduate education: M.S U.S.A (Power Systems Engineering; Spring 2015-Spring 2017) - GPA : 3.8 ( Michigan Technological University
· GRE/GMAT: GMAT anticipating 700-720
GRE 314 (score no longer valid)
· Work experience: By the time I join any school I will have 8 years of total experience (2 years in India & 6 years in USA) I worked as an Associate System Engineer for 2 years in IBM, India. Collaborated with multiple team across various time zone to get the product released. Realized that I for Black & Bam more interested in Electrical Design at that point of my career rather than software. Did a 7 month co-op while my M.S in USA in Kohler Power Systems. Currently working as an engineering consultant for Black & Veatch (Top 10 Electrical Engineering Consultant). I work with various State utilities in US and thus have experience with working with various clients and collaborating with different teams/people. I have led multiple long terms projects and have good amount of client interaction exposure. I am a high performer over the past couple of reviews and have really good relationships with potential LOR writers.
· Extracurricular activities: Nothing notable here. Have always been involved in cultural activities both during my undergraduate & Graduate studies. Was part of Government of India organization which involved teaching underprivileged women in remote parts of India full time for 6 months after completing my B.Tech. I am still part of 2 NGO's back in India but for small things like taking art & craft class for kids who do not have access to the resources.
· Post-MBA goals: Mostly want to go into Product Development /Strategy field be it technology field or non renewables. I do love my job as consultant because rather than working with one entity I get to work with various entities and hence get more high level knowledge of industry. But as I am not very keen on travelling. So, I am not opting for that.
· Target schools: Ambitious - Harvard/ Sloan; Target- Haas, Yale, Ross, Duke Fuqua; Safe- Tepper, Anderson
· Any specific questions you would like answered by our team:
1. Is my profile good enough to be considered for the top15 schools? Being an Indian Engineer I belong to a very common pool of people but I believe my work experience in core power sector gives my profile diversity.
2. Can you suggest Target and Achievable schools in my expected score range?
3. In current situation when many schools no longer need a GMAT Score, in case if I get a lower score will that affect my application profile? How relevant is GMAT score for my application.
Appreciate the insights!
