Which is better of the two/How would you rate the two on a scale of 5 in terms of brand recognition, placements, long-term value in India, and Alumni support?
I am interested in Business Development (and Management Consulting as a long shot, I am still not sure of the career?) as post MBA career.
My long-term is to come back to India after working for 5 years in USA.
Any suggestions, please share

I believe this qualifies as the "war" of the rising schools against the old Ivy league 
Currently I believe MBA in the States at a top tier school is the most valuable thing you can do.
Cornell is not the strongest program, but they profit due to their overall recognition and relations.
In my opinion: Cornell is the safer choice for the next few years.
Also, Cornell just hired a new Dean. We see the INSEAD spirit coming to the US. Might give them an advantage, since INSEAD has proven its success in Europe during the last years.

Given the choice between a top 10 US MBA program, and I am specifying the top 10 as per Indian MNC recruitment teams in India - HBS, Stanford, Wharton, MIT, Columbia, Kellogg, Booth (7 constant) + 3 floating schools from Haas, Ross, UCLA, Duke, YSOM, and Stern, and ISB, I will always say top 10 school in the US. But if you say Cornell, which is a great university in itself, but not the strongest MBA program out there - in simple words a school not known in the industry for its MBA program, I will say ISB. It has excellent reputation in India and you are probably going to reap your benefits sooner.
Going back to India after working 5 years in the US can be done easily if you are doing an internal company transfer. However if I make the assumption that you will be quitting your job to go back to India, then the Cornell MBA will have a hard time opening doors for an interview opportunity in India. The top-10 schools will not have that much of a problem.
