All You Wanted to Know About the Best MBA programs in Analytics

Almost every MBA program today has a course or two focusing on Big Data and Analytics. However, a few schools lead the pack in terms of offering deeper study, more courses, and even majors in the area of Analytics. Increasingly, more schools are investing in Business Analytics and developing the capability for research and teaching in the area. The Economist mentions that Yale, Wharton, and Kelley have all invested in creating research centers focusing on Big Data, and they are not the only ones. For example, HEC Paris has teamed up with IBM to offer two new courses focusing on Analytics.

Opportunities across sectors

Before Analytics and Big Data became a phenomenon, there was just one sector that attracted professionals from across industries – Consulting. Now, whether you have a background in Finance or in Marketing, HR, or Operations, you can find positions that will value your skills in the broad domain of Analytics.

Analytics is big business – and big business is using Analytics

Large firms across sectors today have Data Analysis / Big Data divisions specifically looking only at the numbers. From large retailers (Target, Tesco, Walmart), to Financial Services firms (all big banks, capital markets firms, insurance firms), Consulting firms (Strategy, Operations, and....READ ALL ABOUT MBA IN ANALYTICS HERE

I have the same question.

It would be great if admissions consultants or coaches can shed some light on this. There doesn't seem to be much information on this.

I know that the Tippe's Business Analytics MBA program is considered a STEM degree. What about other programs?

Hi jfizzle and korrag

First thing's first -> Tippie's MBA program is dead.
Next, there are just a few MBA programs that are under the STEM category in the US.

For specifically business analytics -> Cox school of business and Wisconsin Madison have STEM accreditations. Smith's dual degree in BA will be STEM and will be in action From the upcoming year(most probably)
There are a few other STEM MBA programs in the US but they are not for Business analytics degree.

Are you high???? They are about to open a new 250 million dollar building, with the founding gift coming from the greatest hedge fund manager(David Tepper) of all time and have gone up in the rankings almost every year..... Not only that David Tepper is worth close to 15 billion dollars and has pledged most of his money to charity, they could see 5 billion dollars pumped into the business school alone from David Tepper. I don't think any school has that capability, not to mention Tepper's drive to make The Tepper School of business one of the world's best business schools. I think your brain may be dead.

I think you have misread StoneCold's reply.

He was talking about Tippe's MBA program, not Tepper.

Most of them are not STEM. Take Kelley, Krannert, Fisher, Kellogg.....etc Most schools open specialized master for business analytics.

An MBA program in Business Analytics can help students sort and analyze this data, and make valuable organizational impact based on the data. As such, those with degrees in these fields can have impact on a number of areas of business, including finance, marketing, supply chain, and more.
