I am an Indian national with 8 yrs of wrk ex primarily in retail banking analytics covering three countries - India Singapore UAE (Dubai). GMAT 750
After MBA aspire to join I banking. Plan B is leadership roles in industry - banking and likes of amazon, google.
I am married and have a 1 yr old son - both would accompany me at the campus.
With the above information, can you please tell me if Yale would fit into the scheme of things and if Tuck is much better than Yale. Last year, I had applied to Booth(interview but rejected), Columbia (interview but rejected) and Stern (rejected).
This year I am on Tuck waitlist and admit to Yale.
Also, can some please comment on the alum network. Yale univ has a great presence, but do they consider Yale SOMers as their family members or do they treat them more like step brothers?

Obviously the waitlist is a crap shoot, so I would say go with Yale. But, even if you receive an admit from Tuck, I’d still go with Yale for the following reasons.
1. Finance is one of Yale’s strengths, particularly for IBanking
2. Yale’s brand in Southeast Asia is unparalleled outside of Harvard and Oxbridge
3. Regarding the alumni network, I have found Yale College and even YLS alumni to be extremely responsive and I found Yale SOM current students / alumni to be just as responsive as Tuckies if not more so!
4. And this is more aspirational, but I believe Yale’s dedication to SOM is really showing through now, with the new building, recently increased endowment, hiring a couple of years ago of Dean Snyder, and efforts to really put the school’s best foot forward.
