From looking at the admit events being hosted around the US for SOM admits by Yale college alumni, I don't think SOM is being treated as a stepchild but rather with big excitement!

As it stands you don't have a choice anyhow so stick with SOM until you hear otherwise from Tuck. With your family accompanying you to b-school, you should think about how long you are willing to stick around on the WL. For IB, I'm not sure that Tuck is significantly better than Yale.
