LBS vs Camrbidge Judge

Question

Dear friends:

I have been admited by both of the schools and have to choose wich one to attend. Considering that after my MBA I want to move to corporate in management rol and that my background is engineering, I have a ton of doubts:

- Cost:

LBS: Tuition = 64000 + cost of living = aprox 25000 (two years, without luxury) = 89000 pound

Cambridge: Tuition= 42500 + 12000 = 54500 pound (one year program)

There is a difference of 34000 pound!

Ranking and reputation: Obviously LBS is LBS and beats Cambridge here. However, Cambridge is part of the Cambridge university and, as so, offers a lot of networking options and some "collateral" reputation.

Consider that I am going to take a credit for my full tuition cost.

What would you do in my place?

I believe LBS' 2 year degree would be a better fit considering you are trying to switch careers. Also, LBS is definitely a tier above Cambridge. Most recruiters/people in the business circles know that. Cambridge's might be a fancy name to throw at a layman, but in all probability LBS would take you farther, especially if you're also exploring international recruitment. In short, I believe LBS' prestige, better alumni network, more accomplished student body and the fact that you would do an internship to transition to corp. management is worth the extra cost.

Go for LBS. There ways to reduce cost particulary in the second year. Know people that had their second year fully paid for after a good summer internship.

In my opinion Lbs is the best choice

LBS without a shadow of a doubt. The quality of the faculty and your classmates students will be higher at LBS. It's also a core school for all the top employers in London whereas that's not always the case for Judge. Having the ability to do an internship is also a big plus. I had some interactions with Judge when I was researching schools and really wasn't all that impressed personally.

I think you are probably underestimating the cost of living in London and Cambridge by the way.
