I have a dilemma at this stage of my career. 
With an offer from Rochester Simon for this year and Vanderbilt owen for next year (WL as well this year), I am confused in all sense about the way forward.
I had applied to some highly ranked schools but lack of time to write essays undermined my chances.. got straight rejects from Ross, UNC,Stanford and even Olin.
Background- An engineering graduate from India with an First class degree. Had a startup just after college in a lifescience which failed in an year, a job in telecommunication and another startup along with that, one year into this job. I left my job after 4 years to take care of my startup full time. I also have an NGO startup which has done fairly well. My GMAT is 690 in the third attempt (1-640,2-660). The problem lies here.. I am 29 already and wish to apply again to a top 10 B school. I would then matriculate at 30 or 31 and the probability of getting into a top 10 B school dips proportional to age. As a career goal, I want the right company and guidance for a startup for which one of the elite schools is the right place.. like Stanford.
Confused If to continue with simon or write GMAT again this year and apply again..
All suggestions and comments are welcome but soon.. have a deposit date in a week!!!

If you really want to get into a top 10 you are going to need to bring your gmat up to at least a 720 probably higher considering you are a Indian applicant. Do you already have a appetence to Vandy for next year? I know we have a strong entrepreneurship at Vanderbilt it was one of the most impressive things at the school. Standford with a sub 750 in your case is going to be really hard. But you need to figure out what you want to do wait vs take a spot at a good school (Simon). I think Vanderbilt’s name is much stronger than Rochester and the program is a good bit better. Good luck and reach out with any questions.

I am waitlisted at Vandy for current year and if not through a spot for the next year. I doubt with the kinda scholarships Vandy is offering, wl will move any forward.. 
I agree a higher score is indeed needed to aim higher as this decides if appl is on the table or off it in most cases, but age might be a factor.. most schools have an avg age of 27-28.
Btw.. went through your posts and feel almost in the same shoes..a fourth attempt at GMAT.
