Hi all,
I received an admit from UNC Kenan-Flagler (No scholarship but a CFCU loan of 80K) and Olin(Scholarship of 10K per Semester+ Loan for the remainder). Now that Olin has frog-leaped to 19th rank just below, I wanted to know which school to choose. Does Olin share the same reputation as UNC or is there a real daylight between the two? I have also received an admit from Foster(No communication about scholarship yet) and awaiting McCombs decision. My primary target is Consulting with Finance/Operations as a backup.

Hey there,
I think UNC has far better reputation that Olin.
I would suggest don't go by sudden surge in rankings and research more about how the school has been doing in past 3-5 years.
Secondly, McCombs is good, you can wait for the decision. But choosing between Olin and UNC, it would be UNC. Also, depends on how much importance you give to finances. It might change things

You need to go deeply in Oiln and Kenan to see the courses you love to study and will support your job. What suits you, may not suit others. The career service is stronger in consulting field in Kenan. I have spoke with student ambassador and he is going to Deloitte for internship in operation. He mentioned BCG, Bain and Mck. For example, BCG has a rep office on campus which means more networking. You need to take into consideration also you financial status where you want end up living and working.
