Hello,
So I am (largely) trying to decide between Stern this year and reapplying to a wider pool of schools next year. I'm pursuing the SOM wait list and keeping my fingers crossed but am also realistic about the low odds of that one turning into an admit. To share some context, I'm an international applicant with ~3.5 year of Marketing WE (2 years non-profit in the U.S, 1.5 years for-profit abroad.)
Long term interest: entrepreneurship in the social impact space (prob. international)
Short term interest: preferably marketing/communications in the social impact space
After extensive research, I decided to apply to the 3 programs I felt had a strong emphasis on the Social Impact/Entrepreneurship sector. I was dinged at Berkeley, WL at SOM and accepted at Stern. Even though I've talked to a couple of current students at Stern who are looking at going into the SE space post graduation and it seems like there are definitely some interesting options (both academic and extracurricular) that will help enable my intended career shift, I'm wondering if a majority of the class at Stern is comprised of folks interested in going into finance - natural given the school's strength and reputation in that regard. I'm now debating between accepting the Stern offer and or applying to other schools next year (not sure what other programs I would apply to yet). I was really blown away by all the helpful feedback I've seen on this forum for other people debating admissions decisions, and I'd appreciate any insights given my context.
Look forward to your responses!
Thank you!!
