Background: I am 30 years old and self-employed in retail and manufacturing (NYC Area). I do not have the flexibility to attend a full-time MBA program. My degree is in Information Systems Management, and I have 8 years full time work experience. Five of those years were spent working for myself. I am not a career changer, but may be interested in combining my experience and education (post-MBA) to work for a larger company in the same industry.
Question: I have been admitted to both the MBA@UNC program and Rutgers Business School's Part Time MBA program. I am still waiting to hear from Stern's Part-time program, but my chances are slim. My question is, given my goals and background, is there a benefit to attending Rutgers? I know online MBA's are looked down upon, but the average GMAT for the MBA@UNC program is ~45 points higher than Part-Time at Rutgers, and UNC is ranked 30 spots ahead of Rutgers in the last ranking (US News). Also UNC reports an acceptance rate in the 40% range for the online program. Rutgers Part-Time admissions rate is in the 70% range.
Clearly I am leaning towards UNC, just looking for any external insights.
Also, If I somehow get into Stern (Part-Time), would that be the obvious choice? How much better is Part-Time than Online if both schools are top 20?

congrats for both schools. In order to choose really the best fit for you, there are some you need to answer for yourself:
1- Which settings make me feel comfortable? online courses or face-to-face classes? It is your preference. Try to recall any online course you attend and remember your feedback. I will give you another perspective. I attended many courses online but I decide to have face-to-face MBA classes but full time. The reason is that MBA is one time experience in life and I have many questions to ask and I believe F2F is good for me.
2- Have you checked the courses in both schools? Are those that you want to learn and enhance you career? Try to dig deeply in the courses and contents. Will those course add to you and make you more competitive in the market?
3- Finally, You need to ask both university about the level of support for recruitment. You said that you may work for larger company one day. Do NOT review employment report and numbers. As you are in program other than full time MBA, so it is worth checking that issue if it concerns you because some online programs does not care about this service.
