Hi everyone,
Hoping to get some opinions and feedback on Kellogg vs. Columbia for general management. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
About me:
Essentially, all I'm certain of is that I do not want to go into investment banking -areas of interest range from consulting, consumer goods, product management, etc. (very broad interests at the moment, I realize).
Location-wise, I would slightly prefer to end up in New York vs. Chicago/elsewhere after graduation but I'd say this is not a major factor. I'm an international student from Canada so both cities would be a move from where I currently am.
Current concerns:
-I've heard great things about the Kellogg student culture and alumni network vs. some feedback that Columbia can feel like a commuter school and has a less structured student community
-Career services and job opportunities -there seems to be more noise around the fact that Kellogg has a more supportive career services and options outside of purely MBB or banking
-Columbia has the Ivy league brand name and I'm wondering how that affects school reputation both domestically and internationally

The consensus seems to be Kellogg as the more interesting and trending up school. Kellogg has had about a 3 spot differential in rankings over the past 10 years. With your pretty open-minded approach to recruiting, either school would do a great service in terms of furthering your career goals. See if you can find other differentiators (e.g. employer locations, your future preferred location, etc). Lots of discussions about the 2:

Based on your goals, I'm leaning towards Kellogg. It has strong culture and alumni are supportive.
