Hi All,
I'm hoping that someone can help me with this decision - I've been fortunate enough to have been accepted to both Stern and Fuqua (with a small scholarship). Short term I'd like to get into management consulting, and I know that people in these forums generally view Fuqua as the better choice for consulting, but I'm from NY and would prefer to build a career in NYC or at the very least, the Northeast (plus the idea of being close to family/friends for my MBA is nice). That being said, I wouldn't want to hurt my career opportunities just for geographic preference.
Is there really such a difference in consulting placement between the 2 schools? Not just for MBB, but for all major firms. If there really is a difference, how well does Fuqua place in NY/the Northeast? I'd be less concerned with leaving NY for 2 years if I knew that I could easily come back.
I know that they're both considered good schools, but in the back of my mind Duke will always be more prestigious than NYU. That being said, I feel that NYU would provide a great opportunity for me to network in NYC - anyone have any input on this?
As for fit, I've visited both schools and can see myself enjoying either, which is why I'm trying to get a better sense of career placement.
Thanks for your help!
