Hi,
I have been admitted to the following colleges for MS in Finance and Quantitative finance. I wanted to get a perspective on which to choose amongst the two. Please guide!
1. MS in Quantitative Finance - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Pros:
Reputed Course(in top 30)
Proximity to the financial hub (NY)
Better than Plain MS finance
Lower stress since it has to be completed in 1.5 years duration
Cons:
Weather
Cant find anyone admitted to RPI as of now (Makes it difficult to find roommates for staying)
Heavily into quants.
2. MS in Finance UC - San Diego
PROS:
Weather
gets done in 10 months so I can enter the workforce earlier
Can find students going to UCSD (therefore possibility of finding roommates is high)
Reputed university
can switch to a corporate finance profile since not heavily into quants. It is actually a good blend of quants and finance
CONS:
It is stressful to complete a course in a span of 10 months
not close to financial hub (difficulty in getting a job)
OTHER COLLEGES I HAVE BEEN ADMITTED TO:
1. UIC-ms in Finance
2.UT Dallas -Ms in Financial Engineering
3. Pace - MS in Financial Risk management
4. SUNY buffalo - MS in Financial Risk management
5. UNCC - Ms in Mathematical Finance
6. Unv of Rochester - Waitlisted
Please help me decide which college should I consider!
Thank You in advance
