Hi guys, I have a huge dilemma. Don't know whether to head to Darden or INSEAD this fall.
I am an international student who hopes to pursue consulting at MBB post MBA. I guess MBB is not a sure thing so I'm also open to Leadership development programs/general management gigs. I've thought long and hard about the list of pros and cons for each school. I'll list them below.
Darden
Pros
1) Opportunity to work in US
2) Pretty good reputation for consulting.
3) Tight knit community, solid T15 rep in US
4) If consulting doesn't work out, I have more back up options and would have a better opportunity recruiting for leadership development programs.
Cons
1) Less international brand recognition
2) No scholarship (at least so far)
INSEAD
Pros
1) Well-known in Asia and Europe
2) Lower cost since it is a 1 year program
3) Minimal scholarship
4) Great rep for consulting (But many say that the no.s are inflated as many are sponsored)
Cons
1) I intend to switch industries. Without an internship, it may be more difficult.
2) If I don't manage to break into consulting, the Leadership programme opportunities outside the US may not be so great.
2) Very big class and heard that a lot of students are sponsored.
Help! Thanks in advance.
