Hi,
I am indian male candidate and will to stanford, harvard, booth, stern, tepper(maybe) in US (2021 entry) along with LBS(2021) and Insead (Jan 2022 intake)
I have a CPG background with solid work stats (leadership, business growth and promotion)
4.5 yrs work ex on entry
age - 27 on entry
GMAT - realistic figure of 720-740
gpa - 7.48/10 from top undergrad school (business education) in India (equivalent to 4.0 acc. to GMAC)
Post graduate diploma in management (PGDM)- 2.93/4.33 - top 25% of class - IIM program
no international experience, but good cultural exposure in India
decent community involvement as volunteer (no leadership or big change made here, but very personal and intimate to me)
no foreign language and want to preferably move to consulting(luxury or cpg marketing if i fail to land a consulting job) and then start a venture after that.
good and different extracurricular(black belt and tedx organizer)
want to work in an English speaking country,but don't mind a European country if language doesn't play spoilsport
recommendations from Pan-India Heads
wanted help on deciding my safety schools and if target schools should be altered (only full stem in US )
Safety schools - simon/olin (US), Said/Judge(UK), HEC/IESE(International) or Ivey/other(canada)
will apply to simon/olin irrespective as application fee waiver is possible
major dilemma as can't apply to more than 2 safety schools from the rest.
Also, for stanford/harvard what gmat score will give me the most realistic chance keeping my background in in mind?

I can speak about Booth. It's a fantastic school all around but their entrepreneur and venture capital network really stands out. With the exception of maybe Stanford, I would put Booth up against any school in the world in this regard. The Polsky Center and their yearly venture competition have been the seeding ground for some major startups and is a big reason Chicago has become such a strong start-up city in recent years. If that's the field you're interested in then look up things like 1871 and and all the companies that have come out of there with ties to Booth. It will separate you from all the other international candidates who are just looking to get into the best ranked American school possible. Booth, and UChicago in general, prides itself on being a place people go to for real education not just a means to an end. Make sure your application shows that you understand that. There is a reason they keep their full-time program in Hyde Park as opposed to moving it to downtown Chicago. They want people who are interested in being part of a community with its own culture and its own values so know what those are. Booth has very strong ties to the rest of the university so emphasize why you are interested in attending The University of Chicago and not just Booth. It's definitely a nerd school but Booth is the least nerdy kid at the nerdfest so they like people who can cater to either crowd. One thing Booth does better than anybody else is recruit and retain prominent experts in their field so it's worth knowing some of their professors by name. They know that most people applying to Booth are also applying to Kellogg so give them a reason to think you're not just playing the odds.

You’re reaching quite a bit on HBS and GSB. I’m thinking the Indian males getting into those 2 have at least 760-770, along with very strong professional and/or community impact and purpose. Even Ross and Fuqua have a majority of Indian males at 740-750 at least. Booth and Stern seem to also be very high GMAT schools.
Your CPG background is definitely a differentiator for your demographics. You’d need some exceptional leadership and several promotions to even get a look from HBS and GSB, if you don’t have a very selective role and/or company on your resume or some kind of incredible impact you made.
Tepper and Stern seem realistic. Booth would be your reach. You’d need more schools in your realistic and reach buckets, outside of H/S. It really depends on your GMAT. If you score “only“ 700, you’ve got quite an uphill climb. If you get 750, then you’ve got more to work with.
