Maybe ask Anderson what they'd do if there was some change to the rules around government visas that affected your ability to study or work in the USA and you had to head home early.

Also, can you defer UCLA?

Anderson is a Top 15 program and respectable but it is no Harvard and requires work to get a job and the spots you are looking for are very competitive. How is the job outlook for IIMB? Would you get a higher salary in India with Anderson than with IIM if you had to go back after Anderson?

I have to choose between UCLA Anderson (at full price; ~$220k) vs. IIM Bangalore (~$33k) for Class of 2022.

I have 4yrs experience in Data Science/ Analytics consulting primarily for US-based healthcare clients. I plan to delve into Product Management/Tech roles post MBA.

In a non-covid19 world, I recognize that UCLA would give me a more global reach as compared to IIM B. However, considering the uncertainties around OPT/H1B and the impending recession, which program should I go for?

I cannot defer at UCLA. Re. your first point I believe in case of visa availability issues, virtual learning resources would be made available. For now, the program has gone for an online start for the summer, and in-person classes would start from Fall.

I believe, the prospects in India would be more with an IIM Bangalore MBA rather than Anderson. Coming back to India would surely push the break-even point of MBA education further back. There is a lot of uncertainty around the OPT/H1B rules right now, so I believe I'd need to wait until it clears out.
