Strathclyde / Bath / Leeds

Question

I received an offer letter from below UK universities.
Which one is good in terms of outcome salary, international mobility and reputation in the UK and Candana.

University of Strathclyde

Leeds University Business School

University of Bath

In the future, I want to settle either in Canada or in the UK.

I applied for Edinburgh as well but I have not heard anything from them.

I know from the GMAT club we don't get many updates regarding UK MBA but trying my luck for good advice.
All suggestions are welcome!

Hi, Congrats on your admits. It seems GMATClub is meant mainly for US B-Schools. We are not getting much information and guidance for other country b-Schools, especially the UK.

These are all ranked in the same tier. But, since you want international mobility, below would be your ranking:
Strathclyde>Bath>Leeds

Although Bath is considered to be slightly better in management education in general, it suffers from poor mobility as it is not quite well known outside the UK. Strathclyde on the other hand has its MBA programs in 6 countries, has one of the best placement stats, was the first to start the MBA program in the UK and has a much wider alumni base.

In terms of selectivity, below is the number of applicants per full time place:
Bath - 5
Strathclyde - 12
Leeds 14

At the end of the day, the decision is yours. But I would suggest you to go with Strathclyde. If you want any other information, let me know.

I’m guessing you are applying to Non-GMAT schools only? Have you checked out Durham?

Edinburgh & Durham is a tier above Strathclyde. But Edinburgh tend to attract older candidates and are more likely to be women. If you are a younger candidate, Durham may be more suited to your needs.

I applied to Edinburgh and Durham as well but I have not heard anything back from them. I received 7000 Pounds scholarship from Strathclyde so I planning to accept Strathclyde offer.
I see there is a huge difference between FT and QS post-MBA salary for Strathclyde. Do you have any idea about Post MBA salaries?

FT reports the salary of graduated 3 years after graduation, while QS reports MBA salaries immediately after graduation.

Also, FT salaries are audited by KPMG and are considered reliable. QS salary data are reported by Universities and are surely not audited.

This quoted salary is as per the government’s yearly DHLE survey.

You may also check the crowdsourced salary reported at Emolument. It’s a wonderful site to compare salaries of different programs.

Check out the high-fliers report for the usual salaries offered to graduates.

You can also ask ur school to give an idea of post-MBA salaries for last 5 years. This would paint the most accurate picture for you. MBA is a huge investment. You should know what you are getting into.
