Hi,
I have been admitted to Katz MBA-MSIS dual degree and CMU MS in Software Management (MSSM) Program.
My goal is to move into Product Management. I am unable to decide which program to choose.
I am an Indian IT male with 4 years of experience in Software Development.
Scholarship:
Katz: INR 3056079.05 ($42000)
CMU MSSM: No Scholarship
Course Fee + Living Expenses- Scholarship:
Katz: INR 30,72,961.7 ($42232.02)
CMU MSSM: INR 8731654.43 ($120000)
Course Duration:
Katz: 21 months
CMU MSSM: 16 months
Average Salaries (Including Bonus):
Katz: $95,000-$105,000
CMU MSSM: $130,000
In Short:
1) Katz may have a better ROI and I might be able to payoff loan easily but salaries are quite less.
2) For MSSM at CMU the costs are humongous which may even increase even after my Masters as the jobs are mostly in the Bay Area.
But the long-term(5-10 years) MSSM will help me get CMU brand with high salaries.
In either cases I would be taking a Non-Collateral based loan, most probably from Prodigy Finance.
Please suggest me the best possible option
