Congrats on the admits.

I'd suggest to give due consideration to the following:
- that you are changing geographies and presumably wanting to work in the USA post MBA - will this require you to do internship and convert that into an offer? If yes, then 2Y program is better.
- given you are immersing yourself into a learning journey, and know best your own learning style, will you manage to cope with the fast and furious pace of a 1Y program?
- then of course, there is the opportunity cost of an extra year in the 2Y program - is that material for you?

Hope some of these thoughts help you take a considered decision. Best wishes to whatever you go for. All pains and all gains will remain yours.

Hi all

Background: Indian Female. Chemical Engineering Bachelors from NYU. 3.5 year experience in manufacturing in production planning, looking to move to supply chain jobs after graduation, but open to other options. no preference as to where I work at

Recently got accepted to Smeal (Penn. state) and Scheller (Georgia tech). The Smeal MBA this year is changing to a 1 year program while Scheller is 2years. I received equal amount of scholarship for both programs. Anyone care to weigh in what school could be a better choice for my goals

Congrats. Moving your post into the appropriate sub-forum.
Does one have an internship and the other one not? Do you need an internship?

I think Smeal has a stronger Supply Chain program from what I have heard. Scheller is quite a small program and that's not great really since that means small alum base, no recruiting, few resources, etc.

Hi,
I am veteran in operation and supply chain field. When it comes to supply chain, SMEAL has higher rank but Scheller is good school in the supply chain along with its supply chain institute too.

My advice will be around 1 vs 2 years mba. I advice in the US to be in 2 year as it is highly likely to open recruitment doors thru internships. I had a friend in Kellogg 1 year MBA but he could not find job in the certain period and moved out the US to the Middle East. Both schools have limited class size. So I will highly advice about Scheller.
