Hello, I'm from Ecuador (no other nationality), my background is in digital marketing for startups and I previously founded a fintech in Latam. Aiming to get a PM role for a big tech firm or management consulting at MBB in Europe/Asia post-MBA. I was admitted to INSEAD and I'm still waiting to hear back from Judge, but I believe I did well on my interview.
I'm trying to decide whether I should take INSEAD's offer already or wait for Judge and take their offer if admitted.
Here are the pros and cons I see for each school:
INSEAD
Pros
- Highly ranked.
- If I decide to go into consulting, they definitely outshine Cambridge.
- Very diverse and international student body + broad alumni network across the world.
- Networking and traveling across Europe during the MBA would be easier since I'd get a Schengen visa.
- More alumni in Latam. I'd eventually like to come back to Latin America.
- I like France and speak a little bit of French.
Cons
- Brand name not as solid as Cambridge outside MBA circles.
- Small town with little things to do. Most social life centers around house parties and dinners with fellow classmates.
- Not sure about the visa sponsorship situation in Europe / Asia post-MBA. How hard is it for an international student to get a job at MBB or big tech and get sponsored? From a couple of chats with alumni from Latam, sponsorship is a non-issue for MBB but I'm not sure about big tech.
Judge
Pros
- Strong in tech and entrepreneurship.
- Brand recognition.
- 2-year visa option after graduation (I would have the chance to explore job opportunities outside companies that sponsor). If I decide to go into tech, this would be a crucial factor.
- CVP and GCP projects seem to provide a lot of interaction with real companies.
- Access to the broader Cambridge University community and alumni network.
Cons
- Job placements outside the UK are not as solid as INSEAD. I'm also concerned about economic conditions and willingness to hire internationals from companies in the UK due to Brexit.
- Ranks much lower than INSEAD.
- MBB placements are much better at INSEAD.
What program should I go for?

Congrats on your Admits!
It is tricky to compare international programs sometimes since there is not as much robust application and student body data.
At the same time, INSEAD is the most competitive school to get get into so there is no doubt or question about ranking between INSEAD and Judge.
I know there are a number of benefits related to the way that Judge is split and being attached to a court/college/etc and living in a nice cute spot but I am not sure I would trade off that for the opportunities, students, and strength of the program. You have to keep in mind that one of the biggest benefits of the program is your network and being surrounded by highly competitive people who will push you to be stronger and better (you are expected to do your part a well
).
I would say you want to consider where you want to work and what you want to do. "If I decide to go into Consulting" I would say you need to figure that out NOW. There is nothing that's going to happen in business school that will help you in some way. There is not going to be a class or anything else that will suddenly will make your choices clear and not having a clear target will be a weakness and a problem (not sure if you perhaps have another industry option set your sights on but if you have not finalized your plans, I would do that ASAP). Both programs will have a very immediate shift into the recruiting mode.
P.S. Brand not as solid outside MBA circles is important for your Aunt but not for your future Boss who will likely have a Top MBA herself/himself. So while I understand the prestige of being able to tell your family and friends, it hardly matters in real world.
PPS. Recruiting in the UK is usually around London and that's where LBS is camping out so Oxford/Cambridge grads are a bit on the outside. It is going to be weakness.

Your goals are quite diverse and to be honest may be hard to try achieve both in a 1 year program. Generally you would need to case prep consistently and in advance, but then also invest significant efforts in tech recruitment prep. Given the economy right now you may find it better to optimize for consulting. Again, personal decisions.
INSEAD is undoubtedly leagues ahead in Europe and Globally for Consulting. The experience is extremely transformative - the intensity is really on another level.
If you are considering MBB, Judge doesn't even come close to INSEAD - this is grounded in placement data, on-campus recruitment, and investments made by MBB into INSEAD's relationship. I was consulting club president, and I can tell you know we had very deep ties with MBB who would always want to come on campus / had specific INSEAD recruitment initiatives. Its about getting an interview in the first place, and I think you'll be way better placed there.
INSEAD also has a very strong LATAM community. You'll have a great time on campus and probably benefit in your recruitment endeavours through the fairly extensive LATAM INSEAD network.
