Hi,
I have been accepted at MBA programs of Cornell Johnson (40K over 2 years), UCLA Anderson (60K over 2 years), Yale SOM (no scholarship). I have also been waitlisted on some other schools, but it's getting late and I don't think I can wait that long. I am in the middle of negotiating some scholarships, but I wouldn't have too much hope in this regard. I am 30 years old, from eastern Europe. I have 7 years experience in commercial banking. I will have to apply for H1B visa and also use STEM-designated classes to extend my stay after MBA. After the MBA, I will most likely go into Investment banking, hopefully in BB or EB firms. I am currently leaning more towards Cornell here, because of their strong IB path. I have also talked with many Cornell graduates and at this moment I feel this is not a bad choice after all. Yale has bigger name because of undergraduate program, but MBA is somewhat comparable to the other 2. Also MBA is more consulting-oriented. Anderson is more westside-oriented, which, in the world of IB, is not preferrable to northeast. I also know that student life is better in LA, but I think I have to sacrifice that.
All these are just my opinion, which I have found out mainly researching on my own and by talking to current/former students of each school. If you are more familiar with current trends and you can add something to my knowledge or possibly correct any misconceptions, I would really appreciate it. Please share your opinions about which path I should choose.
