Hi mates !
I am south american engineer looking to move to Germany/Europe. I have the option of pursuing an mba in Germany, either in Mannheim or WHU. I have already look at every ranking and information program webpages and they seem to be quite even, perhaps with a small advantage for Mannheim. My desire is to move to Germany some months before the program starts to take intensive German lessons, currently I have A2 certificate in German. My background is related with manufacturing, technology, and some exposure to consulting.
One of the things that caught my attention is the reported salary difference, one of the programs indicates a salary of around 20k higher than the other, which is strange given that they are in nearby regions.
does the location make an important difference in terms of job market access ? one of them is closer to the Netherlands which is a plus.
do you have first-hand knowledge or experience regarding the advantages and disadvantages of each program/university ?
Any advice or experience would be appreciated !!

Hi,
I work as a project manager in Germany and I am unaware of major pay gaps for similar roles (profiles) at similar sized firms. Salary tends to be a bit uniform for similar roles and profiles in Germany, maybe 10-15% variation at most.
Concerning geography, south and west pays the most and north and east the least (Hamburg/Berlin are exceptions)
I have also heard Mannheim being curriculum heavy and WHU emphasizing more on networking and soft skills (dont rely on a random guys input, would serve you better if you check with Alumni or current students)
Take a look at their career report and see which company has recruited regularly in the past 2-3 years and if it happens to be your target company to work at then you have your decision.
