Sorry, got distracted.

So the challenge is that Marshall has the worst consulting placement (at least on the last year's data, class of 2022. I have not finished compiling 2023 yet) https://gmatclub.com/forum/best-mba-pro ... 21312.html

The only way I can see Marshall working out is you hiring an MBB consulting placement firm for like $20-30K to drill you with interviews, connect you with people, and basically replace your school network because Marshall would not have much to offer.

I don't think there is much of a difference between Stern and Johnson in terms of MBB/Consulting placement. UNC is a maybe.... for consulting hiring your school name is not really that big of a deal - your personal performance and credentials convert your internship and then a return offer.

P.S. There is no guarantee you will get your office of choice, at least at first. You put your top 3 when you get a return offer and hope you get it but NY is one of the biggest so good chance but no guarantee since it is competitive. Does not matter if you came from Stern or UNC or USC, your chances are not driven by school or contacts.

With Johnson and UNC just $20K apart, I think Johnson is a great value here. It is more about finance than consulting but consulting is also strong. Not sure if you have plan B, by the way... but something to consider as well in your decision.

It's not an easy choice to make, but it's a good problem to have. I disagree with the notion that there isn't a meaningful difference in outcomes between Stern and Johnson. In good times, it's somewhat true - the market expanded, and some programs saw their figures swell. However, now that we're in more of a "normal" time, I'd anticipate that MBB outcomes from Johnson will revert to about 15 per year, and USC will likely have close to zero; Stern, on the other hand, has consistently been in the top 5 by headcount for NYC MBB, despite its small class size (this in contrast to Wharton, HBS, CBS etc, not the schools listed here)

If you're agnostic to MBB and are aiming for a management consulting gig in general, my vote goes to USC. A full scholarship is nothing to scoff at and would likely aid in recruiting outcomes. USC is a great school and has seen comparable upward momentum to that of SOM.

Appreciate the input! Curious, how would your perspective change if Stern provided full scholarship?

Uh.. you may have misread what I wrote. If you get a full scholarship at the best program out of the ones you got into, which has the best consulting placement, and is in your target location - I think the decision will be fairly straightforward.
