Hi,
I have received an admission from both the Judge and INSEAD, and I am currently evaluating the best choice.
I have a tech background and currently work in London. After completing my MBA, I want to remain in tech in the UK itself.
As per my research, INSEAD is a better-ranked school, and for Big Tech, I am likely to obtain sponsorship regardless of Judge/INSEAD.
It is only opportunities at start-ups and mid-tier companies that would be open to me via Judge, given the 2Y Visa offered in the UK.
Whar should I do? Would appreciate opinions and advice on the same.
sharsa congrats on the successful admits
Choosing Judge over INSEAD appears to be a strategically convenient decision, especially given that you are already stationed in London and wish to advance your career in the UK. Sponsorship for an MBA is an additional benefit that many with tech backgrounds do not have - a silver spoon, if you will. My concern is whether this sponsorship will be subject to any conditions, such as a lengthy contract time or a high departure price. In case such a condition exists, essentially, it appears to me that regardless of the MBA program, you are bound to your current employer for an extended period rather than exploring chances at a start-up or mid-sized company after completing the MBA. This then begs the question of whether Judge is really an advantage over INSEAD? Be clear on what your motivation is for doing a top-tier MBA with sponsorship?
You should be clear about your expectations from an MBA program. Perhaps you are essentially comparing the potential uncertainty after INSEAD about finding the right exit chances in the UK to the right exit opportunity after the Judge MBA (also with some delay due to sponsorship). Neither option is bad, it simply depends on how much you want to push yourself. Even if you pick INSEAD, you can safely return to the UK with your sponsor and continue your search for fresh exit options. But maybe your MBA experience would be more global and intense.
Best wishes
