International student, 2.5y exp in VC, then 1.5y in small PE.
Scholarship for SOM is slightly bigger than Kellogg.
Admitted to APEX program at Kellogg.
Post MBA goal: short-term IB. long-term PE.
Moving with my wife, who will preserve her current job, working remotely. time gap: NH is -7h difference and ES is -8.
Commuting from my home country to Chicago requires connection flight vs. NH which is flight to NY+train.
Expecting to have a child during the MBA journey.
Post MBA targeted geo: NY\NE.
Kellogg is winning by every parameter except finance recruiting but seems like it leans more on class profile than school’s performance. (larger alumni network, ranking, executives)
However, SOM proximity to NY is great for finance recruiting, and greater prob for job in NE area post-mba.

Wow, tough choice! Kellogg’s APEX program is awesome for networking, and its alumni base is massive, but SOM’s NY location is a game-changer for IB. Yale places 35% in finance, with direct access to Wall Street recruiters like Morgan Stanley. Your PE background aligns with SOM’s finance focus, and the bigger scholarship helps with a baby coming. The commute to NH is simpler, which matters for family life. Kellogg’s great, but its finance recruiting depends on who’s in your class. For your NY/NE goals, SOM’s proximity and placement stats win.

Hi EladGMAT. I would agree about Kellogg winning to an extent in most regards. It is M7 afterall though I can see Yale's name being more international-friendly.
P.S. Commuting? Are you planning to travel quite a bit? Surprised Chicago does not have a non-stop. American and United have hubs there ... perhaps at least a seasonal flight?
You probably will have a much better experience on a connecting flight than a train ride or a rental drive.
