Thank you for your reply. Geographically, I hope to work internationally, so I don’t feel the need to limit myself to the US or the UK. I don’t have many people around me who are knowledgeable about finance or graduate programs in the US and UK, so your insights were extremely helpful. I’m also glad to hear that the LBS MiF has such a strong reputation.

Firstly, congrats on the admits, well done!

I don’t have deep expertise in the finance sector, so take this as a set of general considerations rather than definitive advice. That said, a few points might help frame your decision.

First, and most important, the key question is geography. More than the school name itself, the location of the school shapes your future career opportunities.

If you are aiming to work in the US, MIT is the clear choice.
If you want to work in the UK or internationally (outside the US), I would lean toward LBS or Cambridge.
I can’t speak in depth about Cambridge’s reputation, but I can confidently say that LBS MiF is very prestigious and highly regarded in the UK.

Why I think public opinion and rankings matter less than people assume:
1. The people who matter will know. The employers, investors, and professionals you actually want to work with understand the real strengths of these schools. Broader “public perception” is far less relevant.
2. Rankings mostly correlates with the quality of students. Since these courses are not just a line on CVs, the quality of classmates you spend a year learning and growing with, matters a lot.

So if I were in your position, I’d anchor the decision on where I want my career to start geographically, and then choose the program that gives me the strongest network.

Hope that helps.

Best of luck!
