Question

Hi all,

I am working as a consultant in Deloitte. I come from a technical background, i am wondering should i do MBA(preferably from IIM or ISB) or do some job change. Can u guys help me figure out what will my career look like if i do MBA like what will position can i get. If I stay in technical side cant i climb the ladder easily?

If you have used a Satnav when driving your vehicle, you put your destination first. MBA is not a destination, just a milestone.
First figure out where do you want to reach and then assess if MBA education will take you there, or if MBA education is even needed or not. Do not pursue MBA due to the rat race or comparison with peers.

To assess you can do the following
1. Figure out by self analysis and people whom you look upto where is it that you'd like to do in long term?
2. Then talk to people with your profile who have done MBA on how employment aspects differ post MBA?
