bhavya1999 - As Ashish has noted above, the score plays an important factor in the overall assessment of a profile.

If you're looking for a target score, while there's no one 'magic' score, aiming for a 675-685+ GMAT with a balanced sectional split would be ideal.

All the best!

Regards,
Arvind

Hello bhavya1999,

You have a decent profile base for ISB and there are quite a few positives.

  • Academically, 10th and 12th grades are fine. B.Tech GPA is on the average side, so the GMAT becomes important here.
  • While preparing for GMAT, do not go in with a target score mindset. The better approach is preparing with a 99th percentile mindset. That is usually when candidates end up reaching their strongest possible score.
  • Professionally, having experience across organizations like Accenture, Capgemini, and Cognizant adds credibility to the profile.
  • Your current techno-functional role at Accenture can actually help differentiate your profile as an engineering candidate because it gives both technical as well as business exposure.
  • The detailed project discussions and product specifics can always be refined later during applications and interviews. Right now, the important thing is how you present:

    • the impact you created
    • the ownership you took
    • the problems you solved
    • the strengths you demonstrated while executing projects
  • Sports background during school and badminton are positive additions. Going forward, try adding more recent extracurricular involvement as well:

    • community initiatives
    • clubs
    • volunteering activities
    • team-based engagements
ISB generally likes seeing collaboration, leadership, and initiative beyond work as well, so team-oriented extracurricular exposure will strengthen the overall narrative nicely.

Overall, this is a workable profile already. A strong GMAT, good articulation of impact at work, and some recent extracurricular depth can make the profile much more competitive.

We encourage you to inquire with us so we can schedule a free strategy session for guiding you.

Thanks and all the best!
