Hi
Magoosh,
I had given my GMAT this Sunday but got a disappointing score of 680 (Q49, V33). I plan to retake my exam in the first week of December 2015 for a target of a 740 score. Please suggest a study plan or course for verbal improvement in a month's time. I went through your site but could you please elaborate on the verbal course and the score guarantee?
Thanks!
Dear longfellow,
I'm happy to respond.

I like your [urlhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Wadsworth_Longfellow]literary screen name[/url].
First, my friend, I would caution you. I realize that you are disappointed by a score of 680, but recognize that others on this site would give a quart of blood for a score that good. Part of success in the business world is recognizing how a message will land with the most diverse possible audience.
I assume you have seen the page for the
Magoosh score guarantee. You already have a 680, so if you buy the
Magoosh Premium product (Q + V), then, as stated on that page, you would need to:
1) Watch all the lessons
2) Complete all the practice questions
3) Watch the VE for any questions you get wrong.
If you do all that, we give a money-back guarantee that you will increase by at least 50 points---that is, at least to 730.
Magoosh almost never has to give a refund, because most of our students see considerably more than a 50 point increase.
This is a one-month plan you can follow:
https://magoosh.com/gmat/2012/1-month-gm ... -schedule/I know that the score guarantee plan says watch
all the lessons, but if you can easily pass the lesson-end quizzes of some of the opening math modules, you can probably skim those lessons and devote more time to watching the Verbal lessons twice. I would recommend watching all the Verbal lessons from start to finish, then repeat the entire cycle, so that two viewings of the same lesson are more than a week apart: watching the same thing two times in a row is considerably less effective.
For verbal improvement, I would strongly recommend this blog:
https://magoosh.com/gmat/2014/how-to-imp ... bal-score/I assume you already know about the
Magoosh GMAT
Idiom Flashcards.
If you have time, I would also suggest reading through the Verbal articles on the
Magoosh blog. Many of the lessons and questions will link to a relevant blog article, and reading that can help you deepen your understanding.
Does all this make sense?
Mike
