Current students! Which career fairs, if any, are you attending? There's NBMBA, NSHMBA, ROMBA, etc. all coming up soon!

I've already received my MBA a couple of years ago, and at the time went to both NBMBA and NSHMBA. Both are huge conferences with a big turnout from both the number and breadth of companies as well as your competition...other students. I would recommend going to at least one if not both. Personally I found NSHMBA to be better to my liking, but I don't think you can go wrong with either. I recommend trying to apply for interviews beforehand and having some lined up ahead of attending.

I was under the impression that NBMBA was bigger/better than NSHMBA. What made you find NSHMBA better to your liking?

I actually registered for NSHMBA and not NBMBA, but that was mainly due to costs/transportation/class schedules...

Really you can't go wrong with either one, for me NSHMBA was a better experience likely because I had more interviews and event invites lined up ahead of time.

I decided to opt out.
Most of the firms that I want to recruit for come on campus. Also, I don't feel 'ready' to interview. A bad first impression may jeopardize my chances, I feel. Plus, to me, it actually sounds pretty weird that anyone and everyone can go to NBMBA and such conferences. Defeats the purpose. Actually, I don't know if firms have started to expect that now and plan their recruiting activities based on that assumption.
