Hi ,
I gave my GMAT last week and scored a 640(Q44,V34,IR 5,AWA 4). I have a work experience of 11 years in India in IT companies - Mahindra and Capgemini . I am primarily interested in MBA from India (IIMs / ISB/XLRI/S P Jain) . I am not sure of my chances with this score and would really appreciate if anyone could give his/her insights as am really not sure if I should give the exam a second try and even if I did how much the score would improve ( I scored in the range 650 to 680 in the official mocks)
Thanks in advance
Hi swarniverma,
Having Tech Mahindra and Capgemini in your resume is a good plus. Since all the programs you are looking at are specifically for people with atleast 5 yrs experience (except ISB), most of the people applying will be with an average of 7-8 years of experience.
With 640 - XLRI and SP Jain - Might be possible. You need to make sure your SOP / Essays clearly talk about your strengths in work experience.
With ISB and IIMs - 640 will be the only risk you have. I would suggest improving your GMAT score. Quant is an area where you have a great chance to improve your score too.
with a 44 on quant all you need is to
fine-tune your strategies.
