Here's the statement:
The retailer has less than twice as many radios as clocks in the inventory.I am always taking it as c<2r while the correct one is r<2c.
In statements like these, how should I proceed?, what are the key words I should look for to not get confused?
Hi harish,
1)if you read just the first few words " The retailer has less than twice as many radios "...
this tells you that radios are less than twice of something..
2)take a simple sentence ..
but dont get confused with a sentence such as..
he works twice as fast as shyam.. here, yes, his speed=2* speed of shyam...
but if you see closely,
here also twice is of the thing / person after the entire idiom as...as... basically following second 'as'..
so in the sentence given by you, what follows second 'as', it is clocks.. so something is compared to twice of clocks and what is it , radios!
so r<2c is correct
