Hello! I have taken a few mock GMAT tests and I have found that I am taking more than the assigned 2 minutes to complete number properties and inequalities questions. I am consuming too much time testing cases in DS questions. Can anybody suggest any time saving tips to get these questions right within 2 minutes?
Some points of advice that may help:
1. Make sure that you know the rules inside out (e.g. when is x^2 < x, in terms of both positive and negative numbers, and numbers between 0 and -1 or +1 and numbers greater than that)
2. Try to develop analytical approaches to solve questions than only guessing numbers, unless you have a very simple case at hand. Resist the temptation to backsolve using the options, if you are doing that, at least for practice. Modulus equations, quadratic inequalities, and divisibility are the major areas to look at.
3. Practice plenty of problems from these topics. That will help you gain speed, accuracy, and intuition faster.
