Does anybody know where I can get a collection of Word problems that require/ make use of back solving/ Hidden constraints. I would love to find a collection of about 10 such of these problems to practice this strategy. To elaborate more, I am talking about a problem such as this one from OG. joanna-bought-only-0-15-stamps-and-0-29-stamps-how-many-101743.html


Anything would be helpful.

Correct. Resources are many but we need to plan and prioritize as per our own weak areas and then keep improving. Above all just be consistent :)

Technically, you can backsolve on any question that has the following properties:

1. The answer choices are numbers (preferably simple, easy integers.)
2. The question just asks for a single value. For instance, you could backsolve if the question was one of these:
-'what is the value of x'
-'what is the weight of 1 elephant'

but backsolving would not be the right choice for these:
-'what is the value of 2x+y'
-'what is the average weight of all of the elephants'
-'how many different values could z have'

So, if you just flip through the OG and skim the Problem Solving section, you can make a list of problems that have these two properties. Those are the ones you should try backsolving. That doesn't mean that backsolving will be the best strategy for every one of these problems (or even for many of them), but it will be possible, and doing it like this will help you learn to figure out what strategy to use quickly.
