I need some help!

I took a gmat prep mock (Exam-4) today and scored Q38- despite of answering 21 questions correct.

I got 4 inccorect in the first 10 but Q38 was not something that I was expecting.

I felt like the software refused to throw harder questions.

Is that really possible? Should I try to take an another test to check?

I am really confused..

Hello,

This is unusual but totally possible theoretically as well as practically when the average difficulty of questions you got correct is low. Rather than thinking that the software didn't throw difficult questions at you, think that you didn't get difficult questions correct- that is how I will think of I were you and not worry much about the scoring and work on improving my preparedness.

Good luck.

It's absolutely possible. The GMAT doesn't factor how many questions you got right, into what your overall score is. Here's a breakdown we did of the data:

https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/blog ... ions-miss/

There's at least one data point in my own set where somebody scored a 38Q on the official GMAT while getting (approximately - there's a little wiggle room due to experimental questions) 21 questions right. So, it can certainly happen!
