Its been a month since I have started preparing for Quant and have seen a progress of my score from Q10 to Q27 by studying few foundation topics from Mgmat foundation and Gmat Whiz

However I am still struggling on my quant as I am not able to ace the questions on gmat whiz my score for a topic lies in between 20-40% .

I have exhausted the question for the topic on gmat whiz and Mgmat foundation questions .

Please suggest what should be my approach in that case . if I am not confident on a particular topic what resources can I use additionally to clear the concepts for that topic

Take time to build your concepts, you can go through GMAT club quant topics, they are explained well and will strengthen your concepts.

Then start with the 600 level questions in GMAT club and once you are comfortable with 600 level questions, go to next level questions.

Don't put a timer while solving questions initially.

Also start with questions on topics that you are comfortable with, it will help build your confidence .

Hello Esheshsomani,

The official GMAT exam will test the candidate’s ability to manage time, handle pressure, apply the learned concept, and score better. GMAT is not as easy as we assume. GMAT math is logic, rather than general math skills.

GMAT quant score plays a vital role in achieving a score of 700+ in the overall GMAT test. Q 47+ is the score that will keep you on the hunt to apply for various courses in reputed universities and colleges. Success in GMAT Math is entirely based on vital concepts, rigorous practice, complete knowledge of math question types and patterns, quick approaches, and time-management.

You can schedule a comprehensive counseling session for 30 mins with one of our experts:https://calendly.com/mathrevolution/1-on-1-session before you kick-start your preparation.

Since we are a math expert, we will recommend you go through our post on the GMAT club, which gives a complete break-down of GMAT Math questions. Overview of GMAT Math Question Types and Patterns on the GMAT: overview-of-gmat-math-question-types-and-patterns-on-the-gmat-211809.html#p1641411

After visiting the post, now is the time to start with the basics. To strengthen the basic concept on various topics like arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and word problems, you may refer to many free materials available in GMAT Club.

We will recommend you to register with Math Revolution: https://www.mathrevolution.com/member/signup to get access to our 7-day full on-demand course (27 topics, 490 subtopics, and 1,500 questions) for free trial lessons and free videos.

We recommend you learn a unique, alternative time-saving approach [Variable Approach to hit DS questions accurately in less time and IVY Approach for PS questions]. You can check the applications of the mentioned approaches on our various posts in the GMAT club.

Start with the lessons and complete the concept of learning. Make a habit of taking notes during the initial learning of the concepts. Try solving very easy questions by assessing practice sections.

You may also opt for a 1-on-1 tutoring session with our experts if you find that affordable. You may often refer to old high school books to learn the fundamental concept.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to write to us at [email protected]

Success in your reach!
