Just how you get the 7C3. 9C5 I understand. Many thanks.


You need to choose five players out of nine. But two of those players are already known to be Mike and Ted, so the probability of choosing Mike and Ted is 100% = 1. All you need to do is to find the probability for the other three players (since there are five players in the team). Choosing three players out of seven (excluding Mike and Ted) is 7C3 = 35.
