pq can't be concluded with this information. Insufficient 2)|q|=p q=+p or -p q=+p 2p>p^2 need not be true for all p . Eg p=2 q=-p 0>-p^2 This is valid but since statement 2 alone is not fully sufficient. Let's see if we can achieve sufficiency by considering both the statement If q is -ve and p is +ve and |q|=p meaning q = -p We have the valid case of -p^2 <0 So together both statements are sufficient Posted from my mobile device

Assume p=1/2, q=-1 , p+q=pq

Hence statement A alone is insufficient.
