If -10 < k < 10, is k > 0 ?
(1) 1/k > 0 --> \(k>0\). Sufficient
.
(2) k^2 > 0. This statement just says that \(k\neq{0}\). Not sufficient.
Answer: A.
The first statement says that \(\frac{1}{k} > 0\). Now, if \(k=0\), then \(\frac{1}{k}=\frac{1}{0}= undefined\) (division by zero is not allowed), hence in this case \(\frac{1}{k}>0\) does not hold true, which means that \(k\) cannot equal to zero.

u must take the statements are right. u r wrong, if u justify these by evaluation.
in statement 1 says-------1/k is greater than 0 dentes k must be greater than 0 to be valid of this statement.
oh, yes 0 is neither negative nor positive in this connection. your confusion is infinity, does it mean, if k equal to 0, the expression is right.
