r and y are NOT 45 ! as QT = 1/2 PQ . For it to be 45, the two sides MUST be equal.

Where does it say that the triangle is isoceles? Are we suppose to assume that the picture is drawn to scale? Maybe I am missing something. We did just have an earthquake and I am still a bit shaken up...

The question doesn't state that T is a point on the triangle, only a point on the square. Only the answer choices assume that T is on the triangle, which is not sufficient. So since it does not EXPLICTLY say that it is a point on the triangle, which the GMAT always does, then theoretically, the point of the triangle could meet anywhere.. say .000000001 millimeters or 10 cm to the left or right of point T on the square for example..
