let the first three consecutive odd number be x,x+2,x+4
now 4(x)=10+(2(x+4))
we solve it for x
x=9
now the first three numbers becomes 9,11,13 sum of them is =33

I'm not sure what you did the first time to try to get the sum.
Do you mean that you used the general formula for an arithmetic series. i.e. \(\frac{(First term + Last term)}{2}\)*
(number of terms)?
As you note, the algebraic relation between first and last terms, given in the prompt, is 4(x)=10+(2(x+4)).
Do you mean that you tried to plug in the algebraic relation between
the first term and
last term INTO the general formula?
