Number testing might not always give the most reliable results, sometimes that may give you misleading results! Even if they appear correct for one iteration but might not prove correct for all possible iterations!

Check the question type tag to figure out the algebraic solution or the possible rigorous proof.

I got this question from a friend of mine who got this from a math quiz, but none of us have a detailed solution. But we are working on it.

I was especially attracted to this question as it has striking similarity with another question posted by The Maths Lord- Bunuel. Maybe, our Math experts here can shed some light on this one and provide a rigorous proof!

I posted this question for the benefit of my co-students and might learn something from their approach. So, good luck guys and let's work together to bring the beast called GMAT Focus down to its knees!
