If it's not broken, don't fix it.

I found that by taking notes I as able to increase my success rate on detailed questions because I would take note of nouns, ideas, etc. I also believe that taking notes helped me to stay focued when reading a passage, rather than getting lost and thinking, "What did I just read...?"

At the end of the day, taking notes worked for me, but there is no "silver bullet" to RC.

Cheers.

Questions for the folks who take notes during RC :
1) why do you really take notes ? does it make you more active/aware of the passage ?
2) do you ever refer to your notes to answer any questions ?

It varies from individual to individual. some find taking notes useful others don't.

Right, hence my question.
I just want to know how these notes help.
Do they help you understand the passage better or help you pinpoint the answers faster ?
your feedback is appreciated

I think one kind of RC passages that you should take notes for are the ones that are really complex for you . Like for instance , I love science and business related passages but I take a little bit more time to absorb the content of passages which address social issues . So I always take down notes for these kind of passages .
